Media Blasting:

Media Blasting is the most effective way to remove materials such as graffiti, corrosion restoration & paint stripping. The process is a powered blast gun that uses pressurized air with a 185 air compressor.

Walnut Shell Media:

Walnut shell is an all-natural & eco-friendly abrasive. The combination of light weight, angular design & relative softness makes walnut shell blast media an excellent choice for the deburring, cleaning, deflashing or stripping of softer substrates such as plastics, wood, fiberglass, aluminum & various composite materials.

Features:

  • Specific gravity of 1.2-1.4 & a hardness of 3.5 MOH.
  • Performs well in a variety of pH & temperature conditions & is resistant to fermentation.
  • It is reclaimable.
  • Great for old-stained decks, tired-looking log cabins & barnacle infested boat hulls.
  • Safety & Environment:
  • Organic material that is not subject to TSCA requirements.
  • Biodegradable & odorless.
  • Always comply with Federal, State & Local regulations.
  • Walnut shell is listed on the EPA’s Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines for Blasting Grit.

Recycled Glass Media:

Consumer-recycled glass media is recycled & sized to meet specific blasting needs. It is made up of sharp angular particles, yet it is safe for handling & loading. It does not feel like glass, it feels like salt for the #30 course & talcum powder for #100 extra fine. It is excellent for removing a wide variety of coatings. It is especially well suited for removing epoxy, alkyds, vinyl, polyurea & coal tar.

Features:

  • Angular particles allow for aggressive profiling & removal of coatings.
  • Similar hardness to many slags, 6.0 on Mohs scale.
  • Less media required to achieve better results, 30-50% less than slags or mineral abrasives.
  • Very low particle embedment (less than 2%) which produces whiter finish(SP-10) finish.
  • Superior rust-back performance vs slag/mineral abrasives.
  • Can clean aluminum, brass, copper & stainless steel without warping, excessive profiling, or surface damage.

Safety & Environment:

  • No detectable CRYSTALLINE SILICA.
  • Chemically non-toxic & inert. Can be used near water.
  • No detectable heavy or toxic metals such as arsenic, beryllium, cadmium, etc. which are commonly found in coal-slag & many mineral abrasives such as garnet & staurolite.
  • Glass is listed on the EPA’s Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines for Blasting Grit.
  • 100% recycled material compliance with federal & state affirmative procurement guidelines.
